Indoor Air Quality/Mold

What we do

Kyron Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) experts have the ability to investigate, test, and identify IAQ issues such as:

  • Mold
  • Bacteria
  • Allergens
  • Chemicals
  • Asbestos
  • Lead
  • HVAC Problems
  • Building Related Disease
  • Sick Building Syndrome

Buiding Issues

Signs of environmental building issues

If employees or building occupants are experiencing symptoms such as colds, flu, asthma, weakness, burning eyes, itching skin, rashes, sore throats, allergies, lethargy, or headaches, then there is a possibility this could be related to the building.

How serious are mold issues?

Mold can be an area of intense concern. Schools have been closed and homes vacated. Long-lasting and severe health effects have resulted from mold exposure  and millions of dollars in settlements have been awarded in recent lawsuits. Public awareness is at an all time high. To make matters worse, there is a wealth of conflicting information and advice concerning mold.

How are mold issues resolved?

Mold can be a complex issue, with no set regulatory protocols for scientific testing, analysis or removal. Kyron can help with the evaluation, control and remediation of mold problems. We provide guidance in determining the most effective control strategies and ensuring the job is done right. Kyron’s Indoor Air Quality Specialists, Certified Mold Inspectors, and Industrial Hygienists have the training and experience required to perform comprehensive building inspections and testing methods to identify moisture or mold problems.

Our approach to mold concerns:

Kyron’s professional opinion regarding bulk sampling to determine the types of molds present is not recommended, no matter the types of molds present, the conclusions and recommendations will be the same. A typical moisture/mold assessment includes a physical inspection for moisture/mold using a thermal imager, sling psychrometer, moisture meter, boroscope and most importantly visual observations. If moisture/mold is identified, Kyron will attempt to quantify affected building materials and the source of water infiltration or accumulation. Investigation findings, interpretations, and recommendations will be reported in letter format, with pertinent photos attached. If a moisture/mold problem is identified, the report will include Kyron's opinion of how to eliminate the problem and work practices and engineering controls of how to properly abate a mold contamination area.

Summary of indoor air and mold issues

Kyron takes a practical and cost effective approach to indoor air issues. We feel the key to these issues is through understanding. Kyron has found that where IAQ issues are a concern, those involved are often misinformed. This lack of knowledge and information often brings about the reaction of fear when situations are identified. This could result in ill-advised and costly responses.
